Join the Wild River Audubon flock on Wednesday, October 15th at 7pm at the Uncommon Loon Brewing Company in Chisago City to meet authors Marty Harding & Gary Noren and hear of Fam, the Canada Goose adopted by Sandhill Cranes.
Martha (“Marty”) Harding and Gary Noren found inspiration for this book in the words of poet Mary Oliver: “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” They were certainly astonished when a pair of Sandhill Cranes arrived in their backyard—with not just a colt, but also a surprise companion: a Canada gosling! Captivated, they followed this remarkable blended family for three years, marveling at the powerful bonds of love and belonging that held them together. Now, they share that story through Marty’s words and Gary’s photographs.
