Join us in December as we explore the salt marshes and search for coastal birds while enjoying the beauty of Tributaries Outstanding Florida Water.Saltmarsh Trails, located at 6112 S Mason Creek Rd, Homosassa, FL 34448, offers a tower, pavilion, and several hiking trails, all completed by the Friends Group in 2010 and donated to the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. The Lastinger Family Foundation made these improvements possible. In 2013, a boardwalk was constructed for access into the wetlands, and the site has since been used for environmental education.
Please note that there are no facilities at this location. As the area may be wet and muddy, proper footwear is recommended. Limited parking is available at the entrance on Mason Creek Rd. Birding will begin at 9 am.
