Birding walk around Croxley Common Moor

From the A4145 Tolpits Lane, turn into Old Approach and either park on the left after the road curves left, or turn right into Moor Lane Crossing and park after 200 yards on the left.

We will meet in Moor Lane Crossing, where it crosses Ebury Way at the entrance to the Moor.

Our walk will take us across Croxley Common Moor and along the river, returning along much the same route of about 3km in total. There are a couple of benches beside the river and the path is good crossing the Moor but more uneven along the river.

As well as finches and winter thrushes, it is a good area for starling, kestrel, grey wagtail and woodpeckers.

Afterwards, you are welcome to join us for lunch 2 miles away at The Feathers, 34 Church St, Rickmansworth WD3 1DJ. Parking can be found just beyond the pub at Talbot Road Short Stay Car Park, Rickmansworth WD3 1HD.

The event is free but a voluntary donation of £2 per person is suggested.

Parking spaces are limited so please try and car share. If you would like to do that but are not sure who else is attending, feel free to email the organiser, Rob Blythe, on [email protected]. Give him your phone number, your address, whether you would prefer to drive, be a passenger or either of those, and whether you intend going to lunch afterwards. By doing so, you are giving him permission to pass on your contact details to others attending the event to see whether car sharing is viable.
