About this Event

The River to Sea Preserve is a scenic 90-acre nature sanctuary located on Rt 1, Palm Coast (Just south of the Marineland Field Station) . It is situated on both sides of Highway A1A in Marineland and protects a rapidly disappearing maritime scrub environment.

Sue Killeen will start this birding adventure on the west side of the Preserve. There is a walkway past a freshwater pond and two observation decks that provide good vantage points to view the wildlife. We'll be looking for wood-warblers such as Blackpoll, Black-throated Blue and Cape May as well as Wood Thrush, Summer Tanager and Bobolink during migration. We may also see manatees, sea turtles, and dolphins. We may also visit the beachside walk for a majestic view of the beach and ocean.

Meet us in the parking lot on the west side of Rt 1 near the Pavilion (29.662078, -81.210515), which is further south of the east side parking lot.

We encourage you to consider joining the SJRA. You can join for as little as $20 per year, which will can help us continue and expand our work. To join the SJRA, follow this link: https://stjohnsaudubon.com/membership/
