About this Event

Join Golden Eagle Audubon for an all-day caravanning adventure to the Camas Prairie - Centennial Marsh WMA. This high prairie, seasonally-flooded wetland provides a chance to view a wide variety of waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and other marshland species including Black Terns and phalaropes. This year's dry winter may affect native flora, but we hope to arrive during the Camas Lily bloom.
This trip includes plenty of scenic driving, with several stops along the way to get out and observe birds. We may stop briefly at Mountain Home Reservoir to scope for waterfowl and shorebirds. At Hill City, we will turn into Centennial Marsh. The roads here are unpaved, but generally in good condition and accessible by passenger cars. We will stop for lunch and a restroom break at the picnic grounds in Centennial Marsh. On the trip home, we'll drive through Castle Rocks to look for bluebirds and swallows.
