Join us for this monthly series observing and identifying the birds of Belle Isle! Location within the island will vary by month, according to where the birds are! Detailed directions for parking will be provided with registration. A limited number of binoculars are available for loan, and a spotting scope will be available for viewing when appropriate. All skill levels welcome!
We will meet at the following locations for each program:
March's program will meet at the Trout Lily Trailhead, and will be approximately a 1.5-mile loop, flat with both unpaved and paved sections.
April's program will meet at the Ralph Wilson Gateway Trailhead, and will be approximately a 1-mile loop, flat but unpaved.
May 17: The parking area off Woodside Drive. The trail is flat and paved and approximately a 1-mile loop.
June 14: The parking area at the Trout Lily Trailhead. The trail is flat but unpaved. It is approximately a 1.5-mile loop.
July 19 and August 16: The parking area at the Ralph Wilson Jr. Gateway Trailhead. The trail is flat but unpaved and approximately a 1-mile loop.
September 13: The parking area off Woodside Dr. The trail is flat and paved and approximately a 1-mile loop.
Preregistration is required. This is a free offsite event. A Recreation Passport (available at Michigan.gov/DNR/Buy-and-Apply/Rec-pp) is required to enter Belle Isle Park.
