About this Event

Come discover Randall's Island Park! At the Living Shoreline birdwatchers will see swallows catching insects and returning to their nest boxes to feed growing fledglings. We will watch songbirds nibble on fruits and forage for invertebrates in the brush. In the Harlem River we'll see cormorants, gulls, and ducks, herons, and egrets in the water or flying overhead. The Living Shoreline is also home to groundhogs that burrow throughout the site, Dekay's Brown Snakes which feed on snails in the meadow, and a plethora of insect pollinators.

Please note: Bring shoes you can walk in, water, bug spray and sunblock or a hat if you would like.

We will meet at the at 10:30am. This program will NOT meet at the library.

If coming from the 125th Street Library, use the pedestrian path at 125th and 2nd avenue to cross the RFK Bridge and make a right on the Harlem River Pathway till you reach the Ferry Dock. If you have any questions please email Clara at [email protected] or call the branch at 212-534-5050.
