Join the Berks Ornithological Club for an early morning bird walk through Wyomissing Park on Saturday, September 5, at 8:00 AM.
With the Wyomissing Creek winding through its center, the park provides a wonderful mix of creekside habitat, open meadows and small wooded areas—all of which make it a favorite stop for a wide variety of birds.
As we stroll the paths bordering the creek, we’ll keep watch for Warbling Vireos, Baltimore Orioles, Great Crested Flycatchers, Belted Kingfishers and Great Blue Herons. The park’s trail of 27 bluebird boxes is also home to Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Carolina Chickadees and House Wrens.
The walk will follow level gravel and paved paths at a relaxed pace. Birders of all experience levels are welcome. Bring binoculars, comfortable walking shoes and your curiosity for what may be flying, calling or hiding among the trees.
