Join the bird ringing team for the rare chance to see wild birds up close. Learn more about local bird populations and wildlife conservation at Souter.
Bird ringing involves putting a lightweight metal ring around a wild bird's leg, each one marked with a unique number. Information about the age, weight, size, health and location of each bird is recorded and submitted to the British Trust for Ornithology. This helps them understand bird population changes and species decline.
Free, donations very welcome.
Drop by and find the team at Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre, near the lighthouse car park.
Children welcome, must be accompanied by an adult.
