Bird Banding at Pineridge Natural AreaThe Bird Conservancy of the Rockies has invited the Northern Colorado Bird Alliance to bring a small group (up to 15 people) for a special visit to their banding station at Pineridge Natural Area!
We’ll watch bird banding in action from 7:30–8:30am, followed by an optional bird walk around Dixon Reservoir with trip leader Joseph Webber. This is a rare opportunity to see birds up close while learning how banding helps scientists track migration and conservation trends.
📍 Parking: Please park at Maxwell Natural Area (3502 CR 42C, Fort Collins). From there, it’s a short walk across the road and down/up a small hill on a packed dirt trail. Note: this path is not easily wheelchair accessible.
🚶♀️ Trail notes: The Dixon Reservoir trail is natural surface, mostly level with a few steeper sections.
