Tap birches for their clean,healthy sap and use the twigs to make sauna whisks, then head into the sauna and finish with a foraged feastJoin me in experiencing a very special day outdoors!
Let me take you on a leisurely foraging walk along the shoreline in Granton to learn about our native wild edible species and how to tap birch trees for their clean and healthy sap.
We will taste our beautiful wild plants and fungi in a variety of small dishes and drinks as we walk, and then learn how to tap trees and use birch twigs to make an amazing tea and sauna whisks. We will make whisks to use immediately in our 45 minute sauna session (if you are new to sauna, please let me know at the time of booking to discuss health and safety recommendations) and to take home for your future saunas .
The sauna we will use is one of the new beautiful little wooden woodfired outdoor saunas by SoulWater Sauna in Granton, and is complete with changing rooms, cold shower, plunge buckets, and beach access for some cooling off.
We will finish our day relaxing around a fire, with more foraged, wholesome foods and drinks, to complete this one of a kind body and mind deep immersion into this early spring day and will go home glowing and relaxed to the core.
Please note:
My food is mostly vegetarian, but please inform me of dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Pleasae bring your own bathing suit and towels for use in the sauna.
The event is outdoors and will take place in almost any weather, so warm and dry clothing is essential. Bringing some outdoor pillows or lawn chairs and blankets for our final meal around the fire might also add to your comfort.
For logistical reasons (sauna capacity) I can only offer limited spaces, so make sure you secure your tickets early.
