About this Event
Sound as an Invisible Architect of Experience.
This class explores how sound shapes our perception of space — not as an accessory, but as an architectural and narrative medium in its own right. Drawing from his work at KLING KLANG KLONG, it reveals how sound scenography blends composition, technology, psychology, and spatial design to create experiences that are felt as much as they are heard. The session invites participants to rethink sound as a spatial material — one capable of building worlds, emotions, and meaning in ways no other medium can.
About Felipe Sanchez Luna:
Felipe Sánchez Luna, a native of Bogotá, Colombia, has emerged as a pioneering force in the world of sound design and interactive experiences. Now based in Berlin, Germany, he co-founded kling klang klong, a studio renowned for its innovative approach to sonic experiences. Felipe’s work seamlessly integrates elements from film, music, dance, and cutting-edge technology, creating immersive and emotionally resonant soundscapes.
With a background in creative coding, Felipe is passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and art. His creations often utilise generative music and intelligent audio engines, transforming complex data into poetic auditory experiences. While being highly skilled in technology, Felipe remains deeply attuned to the socio-political contexts of his work, striving to foster a deeper understanding of the world around us through sound.
At kling klang klong, Felipe serves as both creative and managing director. The studio’s multidisciplinary team, including composers, sound designers, scientists, and technologists, collaborates to push the boundaries of what sound can achieve. Their projects can be found in diverse settings worldwide, from art spaces and museums to virtual environments and public events.
Felipe’s commitment to advancing the field of sound design extends beyond his studio work. He frequently shares his insights on immersive sonic experiences and the future of sound at prominent conferences and festivals. Notable speaking engagements include TED Vancouver 2024, TEDx Berlin 2024, KIKK Festival 2023in Belgium, The Hxouse in Toronto, Music Tech Germany, and the German Music Council’s Musk and AI conference.
