About this Event
🥧 Set the Table: A Thanksgiving Inspired Workshop for Ages 3-6🥧
Let’s celebrate creativity and gratitude together! In this workshop, children will use a mix of craft materials (paper, fabric, beads, and more) to design their very own place setting featuring their favorite meal. After crafting, children will make real no-bake treats using oats, almond butter, and raisings that they can taste and take home!
This workshop blends art, sensory play, and life skills in a joyful, engaging way:
🎨 Creative Expression – Children explore mixed media art while designing imaginative meals that reflect their unique tastes and ideas.
🍪 STEM in Action – Measuring, mixing, and creating no-bake treats introduces early math and science concepts in a delicious way!
💬 Social & Emotional Growth – Reflecting on gratitude, learning about American Thanksgiving, and sharing “meals” together encourages kindness, mindfulness, and connection.
✋ Fine Motor Skill Building – Cutting, gluing, and shaping ingredients develop coordination and confidence.
👃 Sensory Exploration – Engaging textures, scents, and colors make this experience both calming and exciting for little learners.
At Friendship in the Feld, we believe every creation is a celebration of curiosity, gratitude, and togetherness. Each child will leave with their handmade art, healthy treat, and a full heart!

A cozy sensory bin free play and book area will also be available throughout the session for children for welcome play, who need a break throughout the session, or finish their art work early.
Looking forward to growing with you!
Further information: Our workshops are held in English, including read-alouds and songs. We are happy to provide German language support when needed. We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, or have one available for afterwards. We will be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. If your child is comfortable with you doing so, caregivers may leave the event space, but we kindly ask you check-in with us first. In case your child is struggling to join or having big feelings, we ask you to stay nearby. Otherwise, we invite adults in attendance to stay, sit back, relax, and meet other parents. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table.

We are two early childhood educators with more than 20 years of combined experience with young children. Through sensory experiences, art exploration and child-led play, we aim to support social-emotional learning and help develop community and school readiness skills.
