Sat 5th Sept - BILLY LUBACH + Alexander Carson + Hot Raisin @ Norwich Puppet Theatre - £10 adv / £12 door

BILLY LUBACH is a Norwich based composer multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He performs with a cast of classically trained and session musicians who give voice to his complex and intricate arrangements. With a tremulous voice and the backing of his baroque folk ensemble, Billy Lubach weaves fragmented childhood memories and slivers of folklore into abstract but resonant narratives.
Since forming in 2020, Billy’s band has grown to a septet, with piano, saxophone, clarinet, cello, flute, double bass, trumpet, guitar, lap steel and percussion each lending its own sound.
Prior to this, Billy Lubach’s releases were entirely self-performed, with violin, cello and
trumpet forming the core of his compositions.

ALEXANDER CARSON is a non-binary singer-songwriter/composer based in Norwich Norfolk, United Kingdom. They spend the majority of their time bumbling around the house making obtuse sounds, comforted and accompanied by two ambivalent cats, one over-excited dog, and one mega talented author (Emily Buchanan).
Carson first picked up the piano at age 4 (which is especially difficult considering the weight) and was classically trained, their music reflects this discipline and sounds like a cross between Chopin and Rufus Wainwright. They're currently releasing their 4th solo album "Triptych" which reflects on Carson's youth growing up in a cult, leaving London and returning to Norfolk, and the mundanity of the human condition.

HOT RAISIN (named by moi) are the most lovely Americana Indie-Folk duo in existence, or at the very least, Norwich and the surrounding area! Mary and Tory are old showbiz friends of mine, and we (along with our bassist friend Lotty) used to have a brilliant band called Madames Et Monsieur. I was the Monsieur in case you wondered. Aside from the catchy and heartfelt songs, they genuinely are two of my favourite people. Both of them have been members of my Grandbaby live band too, so they get extra points for that. Also, they've said that they're going to be visiting me in Great Yarmouth soon. So, some more points for that too..
