The 6th annual Bill Peach FRANKLIN BOOK FESTIVAL is set for Saturday, June 13, 2026, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at Williamson County Public Library (WCPL), 1314 Columbia Avenue, in Franklin, TN.
Presented by the Middle Tennessee Authors Circle and WCPL, the festival includes panel discussions on writing and publishing, as well as book sales and signings with 30 local authors, who will also be available for one-on-one conversations with attendees.
The Franklin Book Festival was organized by Bill Peach, longtime local merchant and community leader, author, and philosopher, who died in 2023. “The festival brings authors and readers together and fulfills the mission set forth by Bill of encouraging, educating and empowering local writers,” says event director Kathy Rhodes. “It also enhances the library’s work of supporting local authors.”
Featured genre panels this year are: Romance, Fantasy, Mystery/Crime, Flash/Short Stories, Historical Fiction, Narrative Nonfiction (Memoir), and Nonfiction. In addition, there are panels of industry professionals discussing editing, marketing, traditional publishing, and self-publishing. Ami McConnell, Jaden Terrell, and Steven Womack will lead a discussion on publishing in today’s market. McConnell, founder and president of the Ami McConnell Literary Agency and WriterFest Nashville, has more than 20 years of in-house experience at major trade book publishers. Terrell, winner of the Killer Nashville Builder Award, the Golden Quill Award, and the Magnolia Award, offers live and online workshops, coaching, and courses for writers. Womack, Edgar and Shamus Award-winning author, created the groundbreaking Music City Murders series, writes an article for Killer Nashville Magazine titled “This Crazy Writing Life.”
