Bikes at the Bakery! (La Huerta Style)
Riverfront Roll Community Ride & Movie
Saturday, November 7
Bike Ride at 11 am, Movie at 1 pm (at Garrison La Huerta)
FREE and fun for all ages
Taking place as part of the Fort Smith Film Festival
Join us for a very special group ride and bike movie afterwards!
Starting at La Huerta (on Garrison) at 11 am, we'll do a community bike ride to the riverfront. The event features three different trail options, ranging from a leisurely ride for kids and families to an off road mountain bike option. We’ll begin at La Huerta then make our way to the riverfront.
Join us after the ride at La Huerta (on Garrison) for 'Ridge to River: The Arkansas Traverse' a movie that follows nine cyclists on a 472-mile ride across Arkansas, from the Ozark mountains to the Delta rivers. As the route tests their endurance, it also reveals the state’s layered past from historic injustices to economic depression. Through challenge and reflection, the riders forge a deeper connection to one another and the state, discovering the path forward is shaped by the stories we inherit and the connections we forge along the way.
Trail options
Trail A: A bike ride for the experienced rider, a true workout! (La Huerta up Riverfront Trail to Fort Smith Park, then return to La Huerta, 13 miles total on paved trails and roads)
Trail B: A leisurely ride perfect for beginners, hobbyists, kids and families! (La Huerta to Riverfront, then return to La Huerta, on paved, minimal incline trails and roads)
Trail C: An off-road trail experience perfect for the mountain bikers out there! (La Huerta up Riverfront Trail to off road trail at the levee, then return to La Huerta)
