Adventure awaits! Ever wanted to get a closer look at the vibrant small business community, natural areas, and historic industrial pockets that give Chicago's north side its unique charm?
Look no further! The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and North Branch Works are teaming up for a guided, 5-mile morning bike ride beginning at Rockwell on the River and ending at the all-new Ravenswood Feel Good Fest at Clark and Sunnyside, where our friends from the legendary Turin Bicycle will be bringing the vibes and talking bikes with fellow enthusiasts and newbies alike.
This is a leisurely, 5-mile ride designed for people of all ages and paces! For your protection, wear sunscreen, bring hydration, and please wear a helmet and any other protective gear necessary to ensure your safety on the ride.
Along the bike tour route, we'll be making stops at a handful of local businesses to meet with the owners and learn more about their unique stories.
Starting at 9:30am, we’ll meet to fuel up on coffee and pastries at (3057 N Rockwell St). From there, we’ll head to neighborhood diner (3000 W Belmont) for a quick pick stop. Next, we’ll follow the 312 River Trail north, stopping by the boat houses to learn more about the local history before traversing the shaded riverside vistas of Horner Park.
Next, we’re headed east to visit the tree-lined Ravenswood Industrial Corridor. Once home to a bustle of large factories, the corridor has evolved to house a wide variety of bespoke makers, manufacturers, artist studios, and more. Here, we’ll visit the J.C. Deagan Building to enjoy a rare demo from makers at the (1770 W Berteau Ave).
After that, we're going north on Ravenswood Ave to the (4636 N Ravenswood Ave) to meet with the owners and see the studio.
Then we’re hitting Clark Street to make use of newly-installed protected bike lanes! Enjoy scenic views of Graceland Cemetery before we head to our final destination at Clark & Sunnyside, where attendees are encouraged to check out the Ravenswood Feel Good Fest, a FREE micro-festival that combines interactive health & wellness booths with live music, demos, healthy food & drink vendors, and all-ages fun.
