All barbershoppers (and friends) welcome!
This is our local novice pickup quartet festival, started in 1957 by Thunderbird Ed Jobson and recently revived post-Covid! This is our first time hosting since the revival and we are stoked!
It's a great opportunity to meet and mingle with your fellow Division 1 barbershoppers, and sing with them. We'll also have some entertainment from the Thunderbirds and from local quartets.
Come prepared to get up and sing in a quartet. Sing a polecat, a tag, or some other song you can find in common. The more chapters represented in your quartet, the more the judges will favour you! Fabulous prizes and bragging rights to be won!
We'll be trying some tricks to help out singers who are new or nervous about finding their own quartet. Sign-in / registration starts at 12:45 so arrive early to get a name badge and put your name on a list if you want help finding a quartet!
To help with this, we are also suggesting some specific songs and tags for choruses to focus on in the coming months to prepare, and ensure we all have a good, varied common repertoire. This is a mix of songs from Polecats books 1 & 2, plus a few longer tags:

Of course, all other polecats, tags, and songs you can find in common with your quartet-mates are more than welcome! This is just a short-list to help ensure we have plenty of material in common.
There will be chili, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks provided - we also welcome anything you care to bring to share. We will be asking for a small donation at the desk to help cover costs.
