Big Sticky Mess - Summer Solstice Dance Party at the Crazy Horse

Big Sticky Mess is a wickedly funky trio that plays early 70s-inspired original music with three-part harmonies, relentless swagger and a generous serving of humor. Highly influential in the Sacramento and David music scenes since 2012, they tap deeply into the well of funk, jazz, rock and soul. Stemming from a foundation of tight compositions, the songs always present plenty of space to groove and explore sonic detours.
Featuring the electric guitar and vocals of multi-instrumentalist Karl Rasmussen, the electric bass and vocals of record producer Patrick Langham and the drums and vocals of Alan Gamboa (and sometimes Jonny Goold), this band will summon the spirits of many years of playing together to lay down that greasy stuff. We’ve seen them here many times serving as the backing band for the Brazilian samba sensation, Boca Do Rio. This is just one example of their remarkable versatility. Come celebrate the Summer Solstice with a proper dance party!
