As a part of Canberra Comedy Festival 2025 Jeffrey Charles and Anneli Cole present: Big Smoke Big Roundabouts
From the big city lights of Sydney to the mild mannered lanes of Canberra; Anneli and Jeffrey have seen much of what middle class Australia has to offer and they have some thoughts. Sure some might suggest an upbringing where either one of their biggest concerns was the price of fundraising chocolates going up by 50c is unlikely to yield any fresh takes on society but they beg to differ. Like all other middle class millennials they often find themselves caught between two worlds, one of responsibility, the reality of ageing and that of just wanting to remain carefree and live like a wombat. Life was simpler when we didn’t know what Y2K was (Anneli still doesn’t really know what it was meant to be and is too afraid to ask at this point).
Join them for an hour of laughter as Anneli shares a little bit too much about her personal life and struggles with mental health and Jeffrey’s apparent surprise at finding himself a teacher, married with kids which he explores through song.
