Big Sleep Out - 2025

Join Off The Fence for the Big Sleep Out 2025, a powerful, meaningful night of community action to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing homelessness in Brighton & Hove. On Friday, 14th November 2025, participants will sleep out in St Peter's Square at St Peter’s Church, symbolising solidarity with over 1,000 individuals in our city experiencing housing insecurity or rough sleeping. 

This event is not an attempt to replicate the reality of homelessness, which is a complex and traumatic experience, but rather an opportunity to foster understanding, humanise those impacted by poverty, and amplify the urgent need for sustainable solutions. We deeply respect those who have lived through the challenges of rough sleeping, and we acknowledge that one night in a cardboard shelter does not compare. What it does is shine a light on the issue, raise vital funds, and draw our community closer to the goal of ending homelessness. 

Info: Arrive early to find your spot, connect with others, and take part in early activities.

Info: Dinner will be served in the marquee following guests getting settled in. Guests are welcome to arrive from 6.30 pm, with the event officially starting at 7 pm with welcoming speeches and dinner.

Info: Led by the Community Fundraising Lead, teams will prepare Essential Kits for clients of Antifreeze (this will include items such as socks, water, handwritten encouragements, snacks, hygiene products)

Info: Thank you’s, sharing vision for Off The Fence, pudding served, and time to get ready for ‘bed’ before the bedtime story at 9.45pm.

Info: Following some time for people to get ready for bed and grab some pudding, there will be a bedtime story before lights out onsite (10.30 pm lights go out).

Info: Following a night of meaningful action, participants can help themselves to the light breakfast and hot drinks while packing down. This will be offered 6.30 am - 8.30 am. The event will conclude at 9 am.
