The Big Sky Skijoring Association (BSSJ) is thrilled to announce the 8th Annual Best in the West Showdown, set to take place from February 7 - 8, 2026, at the Big Sky Town Center.
Skijoring, a dynamic winter sport that combines skiing/snowboarding and horseback riding, has deep roots in Montana's winter culture. The Best in the West Showdown has become a premier event in the skijoring circuit, pushing the envelope of competitive skijoring by pairing cutting edge course design (berms, jumps and flames) with showmanship and elements of mountain culture never seen before. This eclectic combination now attracts the top teams from across North America. All competing for a share of the $15,000 prize purse!
