📖 About the Event: An explosion of hot sultry smokin' jazz, rhythm 'n blues and boogie, Big Kitty and her merry band of ne'er-do-well boys have been lifting the roof off jump joints and shakin' the shoes off fevered crowds since 2004. Three- and four-part harmonies round out the glorious sound, which draws influences from jazz, soul and blues greats of the 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s. The odd bluegrass, country blues, rock'n'roll and rockabilly tunes liven up the mix, and this band's ability to fluidly interpret styles has helped to cement Big Kitty and the Lads as genuine genre-busters who never fail to honour their pulsing heart and home in jazz and blues.
Featuring Matt Eves - double bass/vocals, Anna Eves - vocals, Rupert Jenner - guitar/vocals, Coojee Timms - drums, Neil Wickham - reeds/piano, Zoe Atkinson - trombone, Chris James - alto sax and Mal Wood - trumpet.
