Big Ideas: J.B. MacKinnon on Class Action vs AI Companies
About this Event
Join Harrison Mooney in Conversation with author J.B. MacKinnon about his Class Action Suit against Big Tech.
The talk will explore authors rights, copyright, and the daunting task of standing up to multinational tech companies. MacKinnon hopes attendees will come away with a clear awareness that “we are all co-creators of AI, even if we weren’t asked and haven’t been recognized. That understanding is the key to changing our entire relationship with the technology.”
The evening will begin with a Traditional Welcome offered by Chepx̱imiya Siyam’ Chief Dr. Janice George of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).
