About this Event
The Original Family Rave - Big Fish Little Fish is bringing their acclaimed event to Shrewsbury House for the first time. Come dance in the Shrewsbury House Gardens with your family and join the award winning fun. The historic, mini stately home will be the perfect grand backdrop to the outdoor garden micro festival. The event is designed with families with 0-8 year olds in mind - but all ages are very welcome.
The most wonderful family rave festival, right here in our beautiful gardens. Big Fish Little Fish will have you ready to party featuring superstar DJ and 90s jungle legend Aphrodite.
Dance together on a dance floor/garden filled with bubbles, balloons, foam and topped by the parachute dance in this amazing venue!
There won’t just be music and dancing, there’s food, bars, blooming lovely floral crafting activities, bubbles, balloons and foam!
DRESSUP
It’s ‘Flower Power’ themed so go as hippie or floral as you like – groovy baby!
MUSIC
DJ Aphrodite - a South Londoner who has pioneered dance music genres since his days as breakbeat hardcore duo Urban Shakedown before becoming the world renown jungle and DnB producer and DJ – Aphrodite. Part of dnb’s foundations and his BFLF sets are always a treat. Featured on a BBC documentary about Bass. Totally ‘Bad Ass’. Set will be eclectic but feature a lot of BASS.

ACTIVITIES
Craft Activities. Whedon's Wacky Crafting will be making colourful, flowered, feathered rave crowns plus giant colouring in murals and playdough tables.
Face Painting - Have your face painted by fabulous Doxa Faces. Children must be over two to be painted and there is an additional cost for face painting: £8 per child / £11 per adult.

NB Buggy Parking will be inside the house after the entrance. Buggies will not be permitted onto the lawns as they become a tripping hazard. We in any case advise small babies be worn in slings on the dancefloor.

Please note this event is outside so come along, embrace the festival atmosphere and dress appropriately for the weather on the day. The event will take place whatever the weather and refunds will not be offered in the case of bad weather.
Each member of your group must have a ticket and pre-walking infants free (but ticketed).
Parents remain responsible for their children at all times. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
For families with younger children (8s and under) though all ages are welcome. No only adult groups are permitted.
A max of 3 children per adult. If in a large group (more than two families) then one adult per two children please. If there are more than 4 adults per child in your group please email [email protected] for pre-approval before buying tickets.
Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred/sold on to other people on a personal basis.
Please be aware that this event is standing/dancing with limited seating and events are busy with hundreds of people attending - which helps create the rave ambience. The dance floor is for adults and children to dance together. Each event is stewarded and risk assessed in advance.
A licensed bar will be open during the event but no glass is permitted. Please do not bring your own alcoholic drinks with you as these will be confiscated at the entrance gate. You are welcome to bring baby food with you.
We may photograph or film small parts of the event and by entering you are giving your permission for these to be used for BFLF or Shrewsbury House promotion purposes.
Please be aware that BFLF is designed to provide a family friendly, authentic club experience and is not a traditional children's party or disco. There is no kids music, nor games, nor DJ shout outs. The effect is to give families unity on the dancefloor - dancing together.
Dogs are not permitted at the event.
DJ lineup may change at short notice.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All ages welcome but activities are designed with 0-8 years olds in mind. Music is played at safe levels for everyone.
What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?
The House car park will not be open for this event and attendees will need to park in residential streets nearby.

What's the refund policy?
There is a no refund policy but if you are unable to attend you may sell your tickets to someone else.
How loud will it be?
BFLF sets and monitors the volume using World Health Organisation guidelines - so that is it at a safe level for everyone, even the youngest babies, over the 2 hour duration of the event. Though quieter than at adult events, it is still loud enough to feel like you are at a club. Most parents do not use ear defenders on their children but if yours are particularly sensitive to noise or if you want them to nap then you might want to consider it.
