Big Cityyy Drag School
This is a ten session course which includes a 1 to 1 coaching session with Big Cityyy Arts founder and International Queer Superstar Rubyyy Jones!
This course has been created for exploring your Drag persona and exploring/producing a solo performance; Queens, Kings, Things, etc are welcome to join us, you must be over 19.
Classes will be taught by Drag antagonist Rubyyy Jones and will also feature fabulous guest teachers sharing their showbiz wisdom and top tips.
KEY DATES INCLUDE:
Friday sessions, for 90 minutes, from October 9th to November 20th, these session will cover: character, make up (this will be a three hour session) costume, physicality, dance and more - in downtown Paris at St Paul's United Church, 48 Broadway St West
Rehearsals for graduation showcase (optional) on Tuesday December 1st and Tuesday December 8th with the evening graduation showcase on Friday December 11th - venue TBD;
You will also have a 1 to 1 coaching session with Rubyyy sometime in October, this will be arranged directly and will be done in person or virtually, as calendars allow!
TIMINGS:
There are two evening classes available one from 6 PM - 730 PM and one from 730 PM - 9 PM, please choose whichever one works for you; we will be all together for the make up session on Friday October 23rd from 6 PM to 10 PM.
THE SHOWCASE:
You are NOT required to perform at the public showcase, we will have a private class party for our dress rehearsal and it will be some folks chance to perform with the pressure of a full audience.
COST:
This ten session course which includes a 1 to 1 coaching with Rubyyy Jones and a graduation showcase is a sliding scale of $200 - $500 (payment plans are available) and does not include the cost of your makeup, costumes, wig etc which must be covered by you; we will always share and support where we can but we want to be clear.
We are presenting the cost on a sliding scale so you can pay what is possible given your budget, we appreciate that the lowest might not be accessible for you and we ask that you get in touch to discuss sponsorship, payment arrangements, swaps, etc If you want to pay more, you're most welcome!
