The Lake County Historical Society, located at 415 Riverside Drive, Painesville Twp., Ohio, presents “Big Boy Day 2 - The Return Trip” as the Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 travels West through the United States on its return trip going home to Cheyenne, WY celebrating America 250.
See the World’s Largest Steam Engine passes by the History Center and it crosses the Painesville trestle bridge on the Norfolk Southern tracks on its return trip home on July 13th, 2026. The train will pass between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Activities at the History Center start at 8 a.m., including guided tours of the History Center after the train passes.
For a small donation, breakfast items will be available.
Please bring your own folding lawn chair!
The fun begins on July 13th, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Estimated time of Big Boy passing by is 9:30 a.m.
