Big Bear Spelling Bee

Thank you for joining us for the Big Bear Spelling Bee, a first-of-its kind event in Big Bear, California. This event is ALL AGES, and all adults, seniors, kids and students are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Full details below:

• Spelling lists will be sent to participants after registration. Sign up early for more practice time! These are the words we will be using during the event.
• Registration packets can be picked up Friday evening (6-9 p.m.) or Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m.
• Local entertainment will be provided throughout the event, and concessions will be available for purchase.

• One participant ticket gets registrants access to Friday and Saturday's festivities. Friday night's event is for fun and free to registrants. Top performers may win themselves into the semifinals. This portion of the night is meant for fun, practice, and laughs. Second-chance passes can be used FRIDAY ONLY.
• Attendee tickets are for Saturday only. Friends and family can join in the fun Friday with a donation at the door.

• The official spelling bee will be held Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Depending on how many registrants we get, the event may run through 5 p.m. Finals are expected to begin at 3 p.m. Lower turnout means a faster event. Updates will be provided.
• A room block for hotel discounts is available at the host location - Holiday Inn Big Bear Lake. A code will be provided after registration.
• A free Big Bear Spelling Bee tshirt will be provided for those who fundraise at least $100 for the cause. Fundraising is NOT required but highly encouraged.
• This is a fundraiser! All proceeds benefit Learning Ally, a 501c3 dedicated to providing educational support for dyslexic and neurodivergent learners.

Saturday, August. 22 - Official Big Bear Spelling Bee

Info: Registration starts at 9 am. Competition starts at 10 a.m. Finals (Top 6 participants) are expected to begin at 3 p.m. but may start sooner depending on participation. Concessions and live entertainment will run throughout the day. Same-day registration bumps to $30.
