KURSSIKUVAUS
Big Apple -soolokoreografiakurssi on suunnattu kaikille, jotka haluavat syventää taitojaan ja oppia legendaarisen Big Apple -rutiinin, joka on yksi lindy hopin ja swing-tanssin tunnetuimmista ja ikonisimmista koreografioista. Big Applea tanssitaan usein Solomon Douglas Quintetin versioon kappaleesta Big Apple Contest. Kurssilla opit Big Apple -koreografian perusteet, mukaan lukien sen rytmin, liikkeet ja ainutlaatuisen tyylin. Keskiössä ovat hauskuus ja yhteisöllisyys, ja kurssilla painotetaan koreografian rytmistä tulkintaa sekä musiikin kuuntelun merkitystä tanssissa. Big Apple -rutiini tarjoaa loistavan tilaisuuden kehittää tanssitaitoasi sekä rytmitajuasi.
Kurssille osallistujilta edellytetään vähintään 2–3 vuoden tanssikokemusta keskitasolla ja mielellään myös Shim Sham - ja Tranky Doo -rutiinien hallintaa, tai kokemusta soolojazz-tunneista ja kykyä oppia nopeasti jazz-liikkeitä.

DESCRIPTION
The Big Apple solo choreography course is designed for anyone who wants to deepen their skills and learn the legendary Big Apple routine, one of the most famous and iconic choreographies in Lindy Hop and swing dancing. The routine is often danced to the Solomon Douglas Quintet version of Big Apple Contest.
During the course, you will learn the fundamentals of the choreography, including its rhythms, movements, and unique style. Fun and community are at the heart of the class, with special emphasis on rhythmic interpretation and the importance of listening to the music while dancing. The Big Apple routine provides an excellent opportunity to develop both your dance skills and your sense of rhythm.
Participants are expected to have at least 2–3 years of intermediate-level dance experience. Familiarity with the Shim Sham and Tranky Doo routines is highly recommended, or alternatively previous solo jazz experience and the ability to learn jazz movements quickly.
The language of instruction is Finnish.
Registration for autumn 2026 courses opens july 25th at 12.00 and closes august 30st at 21.00.
