September’s First Friday
Bienvenidos A Iowa: Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
Join us on Friday, September 5th, 2025, from 5–8 PM at Mainframe Studios for a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and creativity.
The event will feature the opening of "Bienvenidos a Iowa" a special exhibition curated by Colectivo Luchart showcasing powerful works by immigrant, Latino/a/x, Chicano/a, and Indigenous artists from Iowa and the Midwest.
“Bienvenidos” means “welcome,” and this exhibition embraces the spirit of the Statue of Liberty - honoring heritage, celebrating diversity, and recognizing the vital contributions these communities make to our state.
The evening will also feature open studios, delicious food and beverages, performances by Danza Folklorica, a hands-on art activity by Art is Rad, and lowriders from Lizarde Hydraulics.
With expanded overflow parking and a complimentary shuttle service, getting here is a breeze. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity and community!

Bienvenidos a Iowa: Dadme a vuestros cansados, a vuestros pobres, a vuestras masas apiñadas anhelando respirar libres.
Acompáñanos el viernes 5 de septiembre de 2025, de 5:00 a 8:00 PM, en Mainframe Studios para una vibrante celebración de cultura, comunidad y creatividad.
El evento presentará la inauguración de "Bienvenidos a Iowa", una exposición especial curada por Colectivo Luchart que exhibe potentes obras de artistas inmigrantes, latino/a/x, chicano/a e indígenas de Iowa y del Medio Oeste.
“Bienvenidos” significa “welcome”, y esta exposición abraza el espíritu de la Estatua de la Libertad: honrando la herencia, celebrando la diversidad y reconociendo las valiosas contribuciones que estas comunidades hacen a nuestro estado.
La velada también contará con estudios abiertos, comida y bebidas deliciosas, presentaciones de Danza Folklórica, una actividad artística práctica a cargo de Art is Rad, y lowriders de Lizarde Hydraulics.
