BiA Doula Training is a comprehensive 8-day birth doula training programme with a focus on integrating knowledge and embodied learning. We use a variety of teaching methods, amongst which role play, practising hands-on skills, self-reflection exercises, case studies, lecturing, story telling, one-on-one exchange and self study.
The program includes a 4-day Foundation Training, followed (usually 3-6 months later) by a 4-day Advanced Doula Training where the focus shifts from understanding the physiology of birth and how to support as a doula, to supporting physiology also when birth has certain challenges or when pathology occurs.
The certification requirements include: clinical internships, midwifery internship, supporting 3 clients (full doula trajectory of 3 prenatal meetings, birth and 2 postnatal meetings), required reading list (7 books), following a childbirth education class, attending intervision / reflection meetings, mentor contact, self-reflection assignments.
We have people joining from The Netherlands, as well as from abroad (Europe, South America, North America).
Fees include the in-person training days, pre-reading pdf's, 300+ pages training manual, tea and snacks, online community, mentor support, reflection/ intervision meetings and certification.
Fees: €2800,- for the complete training.
