EVENT DETAILS:

Black art has revolutionized the world many times over in the past. That is why for this Black History Month, the NY-YCL & CPUSA have organized an art show to recognize up-and-coming creatives! During the show, you will be treated to beautiful photography, a sensational tap dance performance, and a moving film. After, some of the present artists will answer questions about their art and Black artistry as a whole in a panel. Finally, an open mic will be held for artists in the crowd to present their work to those attending!

JUSTICE FOR SANIYAH CHEATHAM!

A portion of the profits will go towards the maintenance and expansion of a vigil for Saniyah Cheatham. Saniyah was 18 years old last July 4th when she was partying with her family. After leaving her family's celebration, she was arrested and detained at the 41st Precinct in the South Bronx. Saniyah was later found dead in her cell hours after the arrest. The NY-YCL is determined to hold the NYPD accountable for Saniyah's death and keep her memory alive!
