Black Hills Symphony announces auditions for our 2025-26 Season. Auditions will be held on August 25, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Rapid City Central High School in the Orchestra Room.
Openings for 2024-2025 Season:
Harp
All Strings
Audition Requirements:
Eligibility --
High School (grades 9-12) through adult.
Students must be a member of a school orchestra or band.
High School students must audition every year.
Note: Former BHSO Musicians -- if it has been more than a year since you played regularly with BHSO, you will be asked to re-audition.
Applicants should be prepared to:
1. Play a solo or etude of their choice
2. Sight-read orchestral literature
An evaluation of the player's quality on all materials will be a part of the overall score. The Solo or Etude should be of a level that shows the technical skills that are required to perform orchestral literature.
