Need a getaway without the airfare, hotel bill, or emotional trauma of airport security? Pack a blanket and join us for the Big Gay Picnic: Summer Staycation - a sunny afternoon of food, music, games, and community right here in San Diego.
We’re turning Balboa Park into our own little vacation destination, complete with a live DJ, lawn games, picnic snacks, and plenty of friendly people to meet. Come recharge under the trees, catch some rays, or simply lounge on the grass and enjoy the kind of summer escape that doesn’t require leaving town.
When: Sunday, August 2
Time: 11 AM–3 PM
Where: Cypress Grove in Balboa Park — look for the Pride flags!
What to bring:
A blanket or lawn chair
Food and drinks for yourself
A little something extra to share, if you’re feeling generous
Sunscreen, games, friends, pets, kids, or your fabulous solo self
