About Filmmaker

Lucretia “Lu” Stinnette tells character-driven stories about women navigating complex social realities. Her award-winning short films QuyenRedondo, and Currency have screened internationally and are recognized for their nuanced explorations of race, class, and identity.

An alum of the AFI Directing Workshop for Women and a recipient of support from the San Francisco Film Society/Rainin Foundation, Lu has directed narrative and documentary projects and produced music videos for major artists and brands. She holds an MFA from UCLA and teaches directing and screenwriting at UCLA Extension.
