Bulldozer Films are proud to be the regional lead of the 2024/25 BFI Film Academies in Wales. If you are 16-19, based in or around Swansea and are interested in exploring a career in filmmaking or/and visual effects, then this is the perfect course for you!

The course lasts five days, from the 28th October until 1st November, please ensure you are avaialble for the entire duration before applying.
THE COURSES:
•FREE of charge, and bursaries for access needs are available. Lunch on all course days provided.
•You will contribute to the pre-production, production and post-production of a short film.
•You will learn vital skills; using equipment, working with actors, safety on set, team-work and communication within the crew, and editing footage.
•You will work alongside professionals and understand how the film industry works in Wales and beyond.
•The course will be assessed through observation of practical work and written production diaries.
WHY JOIN US?
•Graduates of the course gain a NCFE Level 2 Get Into Film accreditation. This is a recognised qualification amongst employers, universities and colleges.
•Following the course, you will be invited to the Cardiff Mini Film Festival, and have the opportunity to join the pre-selection panel.
•An unique addition to your future CV, which sets you apart from competition.
•Completing the course will make you eligible for the BFI residential courses across the UK.
•Opportunity for alumni to join the It’s My Shout programme, which produces shorts for BBC, and provides a broadcast credit.
ELIGIBILITY
•You must be aged 16 to 19 years old on the first day of the course.•You must be a UK resident.
•You must have a passion / talent for filmmaking and an ambition to work in the screen industries.
•You must be able to commit to the duration of the course.
•You must not currently be at university or enrolled at university when the course starts.
•You must not have previously enrolled on a BFI Film Academy course.
