Aida leaves Piero for wealthy Marcello, who woos her with promises, then abandons her in a garage with her suitcase. When she seeks him out, he sends his 16-year-old brother Lorenzo. Feeling sorry for her, Lorenzo takes her to a boarding house and meets her in secret, giving money and affection. The family discovers them, and a priest orders Aida to leave the boy and the town.

Aida verlässt Piero für den reichen Marcello, der sie mit Versprechungen umwirbt, sie dann aber mit ihrem Koffer in einer Garage zurückzulässt. Als sie ihn sucht, schickt er seinen 16-jährigen Bruder Lorenzo zu ihr. Dieser hat Mitleid mit ihr, bringt sie in eine Pension und trifft sich heimlich mit ihr, um ihr Geld und Zuneigung zu geben.
