In this interactive session, Dr. Ana Abrantes introduces the Araucária Framework, a simple, memorable image for a musical life. Drawing on her work with young artists at the Sphinx Organization, Ana maps the practical skills musicians use beyond the practice room and helps students, parents, and teachers see the many ways a life in music can take shape. Designed for music students of all ages, their families, and educators.

ABOUT DR. ANA ABRANTES
Dr. Ana Abrantes is a cellist, educator, and Director of Education at the Sphinx Organization, the Detroit-based nonprofit transforming lives through the power of the arts. She oversees Sphinx's national education programs, including the Sphinx Performance Academy, a tuition-free summer intensive for advanced young string players, and the Overture program, which brings string instruction to public school students in Detroit and Flint.
A Suzuki-certified teacher, she chairs the American String Teachers Association's Community Music Committee, serves on the board of the International Cello Institute, performs with the Michigan Philharmonic, Flint Symphony, and Saginaw Bay Symphony orchestras, and is acting assistant principal cello of the Midland Symphony Orchestra. Her workshop series, Beyond the Practice Room, has been presented at institutions including the Manhattan School of Music.
