Whether you are a visual person, or a minimalist, in times of crisis and through transitions of life, professional organizers are here to help ease the burden and create organization.......in short, organizers help you get your shit together.The two women joining us today are industry experts...hell, they are really life experts. Between the two, they have almost 50 years of experience organizing professionally...(gulp).
Sidney Young began her business in southern California and worked her way up to organizing NYT best selling authors, popular sports figures and a regular guest on the Oprah Show. Today Need Organizing? is thriving and is preparing for a relocation and a new chapter in Chapel Hill, NC.
In 2004 Jenn created Simple Organizing Strategies (SOS), and 2 years later Iowa Professional Organizers, and has been organizing homes and offices, teaching, and offering public speaking events in the area ever since. Last year, IPO transitioned into Professional Organizers Collective to accommodate for growth nationwide!!
Way back in 2008, when Sid relocated to Iowa City, Jenn reached out when she saw an organizing post on the IC Mommy's group FB page. Although Sid was a little skeptical about what this meeting was going to be, Jenn turned out to be.. well...Jenn, and in no time the two were fast friends and a powerhouse organizing team. Although their approach differs, the two frequently work together on organizing projects, allowing for one person to "stay in the decision making zone" with the client, while the other is physically boxing or bagging items, sorting, categorizing, and moving things from where they are to where they need to be.
Sid and Jenn are both active members in The Professional Organizers Collective, a networking, resource, education, and referral group. Members of the group support each other as peers, work together on projects, and spend time each summer and winter at group retreats, learning, playing, practicing yoga, and commiserating on all things organizing!
