I am so excited to finally share this…

On Thursday 7 May (publication day!), I will be hosting an in-person book launch celebration for Beyond the Label: Empowering Parents of ADHD Girls at Phyllis Court in Henley-on-Thames, from 6:30–8:30pm.

This will be a relaxed evening “in conversation” event, and I am thrilled that Dr Maryhan, host of the popular parenting podcast How Not to Screw Up Your Kids, will be interviewing me about the book — the journey behind it, ADHD in girls, and the realities many families face but rarely talk about.

We will explore the moment when you start to realise something deeper may be going on with your child, why ADHD in girls is still so often missed, and what truly helps children and families thrive.

Beyond the Label is the book I wish I had when my own daughter began struggling.

As a medical doctor, I thought I understood children’s health. But when my daughter reached eleven, our lives became overwhelmed by emotional meltdowns, school struggles and daily battles I could not explain.

It was only through conversations on my podcast, the SEND Parenting Podcast, that the penny finally dropped — my daughter had ADHD.

In Beyond the Label, I combine medical insight with lived experience to help parents recognise ADHD in girls, understand the science behind their behaviour, and build a practical roadmap to help their children thrive.
