For better or worse, artificial intelligence now shapes everyday life. Designed for the AI-curious, this session moves beyond headlines of wonder and worry to offer a clear, practical understanding of how people responsibly use AI–and where its limits lie. The discussion explores major forms and providers of AI, from familiar tools like ChatGPT, Siri, and Sora to the systems doctors, lawyers, accountants, and other professionals increasingly rely on. It also focuses on responsible use, helping participants guide friends and family through this fast-changing landscape. Participants leave with a jargon-free grasp of what AI can and cannot do, how to protect privacy and security, and how to recognize when AI is used to deceive or misinform. Our presenter is Matti Neustadt, an international legal advisor in digital law, bridging U.S. and European expertise in privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, governance, artificial intelligence, and internet protocol. Her strength is translating complex legal and technical requirements into actionable strategies capable of growing with a business. With a BSc in Applied Physics, she transitioned to law, earning a JD at Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland while working as an engineer for Intel in Hillsboro.
