About this Event
A storytelling and crankie theatre performance featuring traditional and contemporary tales on the themes of love, loss and renewal through connection with the natural world.
A ‘crankie’ is a slice of pre-cinematic magic; a hand-crafted theatre-box with scrolling scenery inside. Join storytellers Cath Little and Bronia Evers at Chapter Arts in Cardiff for an evening of stories, song and moving pictures.
"A StoryNight classic! Exceptional talent headlining the evening. Cath Little and Bronia Evers brought us pure wonder, and woo’d us with their well-rooted tellings and gently compelling audience connection. A rare treat! And crankies and singing! Sublime!"
— Nell Phoenix, Storyteller and host of Story Night at Torriano, London, on Beyond The Glass Mountain
More about the performers:
Cath Little is a Cardiff-based Storyteller and Singer with “rough magic” in her voice, and in her words “the gift of the story comes through.” She has a strong belief in the power of stories to connect us to one another, to the land, and to the people who once lived here. Cath tells traditional stories from her Irish English heritage and her Welsh homeland. For more about Cath’s work, visit her website: www.cathlittle.co.uk
Bronia Evers is a storyteller, maker, crankie artist and puppeteer. Her work weaves orally told stories with hand crafted performing objects, crankies and puppets. Bronia is co-founder of One Moment In Time Stories. The dance between words and images is an ongoing research question that she continues to explore with curiosity throughout her practice.
