Beyond Defection: A Community Conversation with Paola Ramos
About this Event
Bold Futures invites renowned journalist Paola Ramos to Las Cruces, New Mexico for a powerful community conversation inspired by her book Defectors.
This event will bring community members and advocates, students and local leaders together to explore questions of identity, belonging, democracy, and the evolving Latino experience in the borderlands. Located at the intersection of culture, migration and national political narratives, Las Cruces is a pivotal location highlighted in the book. This event will create space for meaningful dialogue between national journalism and the lived experiences of the people in New Mexico.
The evening will feature a conversion with Paola Ramos followed by audience questions and ending with a book signing. We would like to offer the community this opportunity to reflect, connect and engage in such an important conversation about the future of our immigrant and Latino communities.
