Beyond Awareness: Mental Health, Reintegration & Collective Care

The 2025, Beyond Awareness, Mental Health Awareness Month panel discussion, hosted by RECLAIM, will focus on the intersection of incarceration and mental health, emphasizing the importance of mental, emotional, and relational health care in the reintegration process. The panel discussion will explore strategies to increase access to incarceration-responsive care, decrease stigma, and promote non-carceral, community-based support systems. 

Featuring system-impacted individuals, politicized mental health practitioners, and RECLAIM community members, the event aims to foster dialogue between practitioners in the mental health field and systems impacted community members to highlight the critical role of collective care in building healthy communities. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges faced by those reintegrating into society and learn about current non-carceral approaches to mental health care.
