The Senior Friendship Centers Alumni Association is proud to present the BeWell Lecture Series.

Hosted in our SFC Sarasota Activity Center, Derrick DeSilva, MD, (Integrative Medicine) will share the best of eastern meets western medicine as we navigate our personal wellness and how to take healthcare into your own hands.

This series is specifically for those age 50 and better who want their lifespan to equal their healthspan. This presentation places a friendly spotlight on proactive lifestyle choices, from simple start-today recommendations to cutting edge modalities.

This series is also for Senior Service professionals who wish to expand aging-with-intention wellness for themselves, and their clients.

Derrick M. DeSilva M.D. is a world-renowned doctor and scientist, voted “one of the best doctors” by New York Magazine. Dr. DeSilva is the host of a radio talk show called "Ask the Doctor", and his own television show, "To Your Health". He hosts medical segments on CNN and has appeared as a guest on numerous national television programs throught the years, including ABC's Nightline, Larry King Live, The Housewives of New Jersey, he is a regular health expert on the TV show, "Extra".

Because of his expertise and desire to educate, Dr. DeSilva has been featured on many national TV shows and news as an expert in a multitude of subjects including naturopathic medicine, supplements, hormone optimization and preventative healthcare.

His focus has always been in bringing together Eastern and Western medicine and giving his patients “The Best of Both Worlds”. Dr. DeSilva's passion is in the field of Optimal Aging Medicine as he calls it. His five points of wellness includes: the food we eat, bio-identical hormones, our activity level, what nutrients we take and our spirituality.

Dr. DeSilva's practice is located in Edison, New Jersey.
