It seems like we are all feeling a little Betwixt and Between– in our personal lives, in our Spiritual lives, in our congregational life, in our denominations life, and in our culture. There is a term for what we are all feeling...it's called liminality. Liminality is an inner state and sometimes an outer situation where we can begin to think and act in new ways. It is where we are betwixt and between, having left one room or stage of life but not yet entered the next."
In this equipping session we will look at liminality through various lenses– including social, historical, philosophical, anthropological, sociological, and theological. We will also look at Scripture, metaphors within Scripture, and stories that point to Liminal spaces and times. And we will look at how faithful followers of Jesus lived Kingdom lives in the midst of liminality and how we as the people of God can move forward faithfully following Jesus and the Kingdom of God in the midst of this liminal season.
