Between Two Worlds Music Festival!
Los Angeles Guitarist and Composer Scotty Bramer brings together his project “Bodhisattva,” along with groups by bassist Nick Campbell Destroys and pianist Michael Orenstein for an incredible triple bill music festival.
Bramer brings a fresh and expressive voice to modern jazz. A graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music, he has performed and toured with acclaimed artists including Sam Barsh, Darek Oles, Bob Sheppard, Louis Cole, and Sara Bareilles while appearing at festivals such as the 123 Farm Jazz Festival and Love Long Beach Festival. Known for his melodic improvisation and soulful artistry, Bramer blends beautiful melodies, rich harmony and adventurous exploration into a sound that is both sophisticated and deeply personal. He leads several original projects, including his psychedelic jazz ensemble Bodhisattva - and this evening will also celebrate the two-year anniversary of his album, Between Two Worlds. Nick Campbell plays the electric bass. He was born and raised in Los Angeles and has developed his own unique style of playing, superimposing triadic patterns over static harmony - commonly referred to as “getting modal.” Campbell has performed and toured with an array of artists including Pomplamoose, Scary Pockets, Charlie Puth, Vulfpeck, Meghan Trainor, Larry Goldings, Raquel Rodriguez, Nigel Hall, Theo Katzman, Michael Mayo and Moonchild and as a leader (or co-leader) with the bands: Shrek Is Love and Bear Attack. He currently writes music under the name “Nick Campbell Destroys” and released his debut album Art on December 9th, 2022, a ten track ultra funky modal blast. He released his next album Live for the Highest Bidder with Jacob Mann and Christian Euman on July 14th, 2023. His group will be performing his original music as well as some funky covers.
Michael Orenstein is a Los Angeles-based jazz pianist and composer whose sound has been praised for its “rhythmic richness, creativity, and modern language.” His acclaimed debut album, Aperture, was released on Origin Records in 2022, earning international radio play and recognition from JazzTimes. Orenstein has performed and led workshops around the world, including tours in New Zealand, the Bahamas, the Netherlands, and South Africa, and has worked with the legendary HR Bigband in Frankfurt. An award-winning composer and graduate of Oberlin and USC, he remains active throughout the Los Angeles jazz scene. His group will be performing original compositions from Aperture as well as select jazz standards.

Where is parking located?
Parking is located under the building, accessible from west of the building off of 1st St. between Bunker Hill Towers and the mini-shopping center AU LAC is in.
Once you’ve turned into the large driveway, turn left into the garage “Guest Parking and Residence Parking of The Promendade”. $12 CASH ONLY.
Additional parking is located directly across Hope St. at Disney Hall - 111 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. $10.
There is limited street parking in front of Au Lac, Disney Hall and The Music Center.

Au Lac’s full menu is available inside the club. There is no minimum, but we would appreciate your purchases!
Au Lac is a non-alcoholic restaurant. We serve nice mock-tails in the venue. And the good news is that all ages can attend or perform there! If you're wanting alcohol before or after the event, The Conrad is a lovely bar just across the front of Disney hall, just a block away.
