“Marvelous work,” Clemmie said to Sera. “I was just thinking this morning that what we really needed in our lives was not a new fireplace or a nice car but, in fact, a resurrected fucking rooster.”
"I hope you have an umbrella. It rains apple blossom tea in this room every Sunday.”
― Sangu Mandanna,
Well, I think that sets the tone up for us nicely.
This time around, we are delving into the world of Cozies. Cozies, as a subgenre to other fiction, started with mysteries, but has swept through all realms of fiction at this point, even horror.
This book is a split down the middle between Cozy Fantasy, and Cozy Romance. One foot in each world, much like the modern witch herself.
For the first time, we will be reading the second in a series, and I think we will allow ourselves that freedom more often. If you are a purist and want to read the first book first, that is The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, but they really do stand alone.
This is a free, community building event.
