About this Event
About This Course:
In his hands-on denture course, insructor Nina Frketin focuses on practical improvements you can apply immediately at the bench. Nina's morning session covers common mistakes, useful tips, and what actually matters when making dentures. Her afternoon session explores gingival anatomy and shaping anaxgum pink composite for better muscle support, function, and natural aesthetics.
Nina designed this course for technicians seeking clarity and confidence in their denture work. No complicated theories you’ll forget the moment you leave the room. No intimidating “expert-level” workflows. Just clear, practical guidance that you can take back to the lab and apply the very next day at the bench.
After creating this exciting new course, Nina told us it was essentially the course is the course she wished someone had given her when she started. We can't wait for her to bring it to you with all the
Course Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Course Pre-requisites: None
Course Outline:
8:30 am - 9:00 am: Coffee with the Instructor
9:00 am - 12:00 pm: The Theory That Actually Helps
We’ll start the day with a relaxed theory session where Nina will share the practical lessons she's learned the hard way.
Things like:
- What really matters when making dentures
- Common mistakes we all make (yes, Nina included)
- What to pay attention to so your dentures work with the patient, not against them
- Small adjustments that make a surprisingly big difference
Think of it as a collection of tips, tricks, and “aha!” moments that can immediately improve your work.
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm: Lunch
12:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Gingival Anatomy & Anaxgum Pink Composite
In the second half of the day, we’ll roll up our sleeves and get hands-on.
We’ll work with anaxgum pink composite, focusing on understanding gingival anatomy and how to shape composite in a way that improves muscle support and grip for the denture.
You’ll learn how to:
- Read and interpret the anatomy of the gums
- Shape gingival composite with intention
- Create functional contours that support the musculature
- Achieve natural-looking results without overcomplicating the process
This is where everything starts to click — when anatomy, function, and aesthetics finally make sense together.
4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Review and Q&A
5:00 pm: Certificate Presentation & Course Conclusion
About The Instructor:
Nina Frketin: A Croatian dental technician who’s spent the last 15 years in the UK perfecting work most people never notice — and learning what that invisibility costs.
Nina is the founder of Nightshift, a global community empowering women in dental technology, and a technician at Queensway Dental Laboratory. She mentors, teaches, writes, and speaks internationally — not because she chased titles, but because she believes this craft deserves better visibility, fairer value, and healthier people. Nina is an award-winning, outspoken technician who's deeply committed to the technicians behind every smile — especially when no one’s looking.
How to Get to anaxskool:
After years of traveling to hold courses in labs and education centers nationwide, we made our very own anaxskool education center with a mission to create effective, dynamic, memorable educational programs for dental professionals in the USA.
We founded anaxskool in our quirky, small hometown in southern Oklahoma: .
We're about 1.5 hours North of the Dallas / Fort Worth Airport (DFW), and it's an easy drive up I-35. We recommend renting a car to get to and from the airport and to get around town during your stay, since Uber and Lyft don't have a dependable presence here.
