This is a 10 mile low level walk, mostly over farm and pasture land, which commences from the village of Bethersden, and it is a virtually flat route. The walk heads across to Smarden, which is reputed to be one of the prettiest villages in Kent, it has a wealth of weatherboarded and timber-framed cottages. In summary the anti-clockwise circuits goes to Lamberden Wood, Little Odiam, Wissenden, Tuesnoad and Romden, before reaching Smarden. It is worth lingering awhile in this most delightful unspoilt village, there are numerous benches to tuck into your lunch box, whilst a visit to the 14th-century church is recommended.
The second leg then returns via Buckgreen Farm, the edge of Romden Wood, Odiam Farm and Pot Kiln Lane.
Once finished, the George pub is useful for a post walk drink, the Bull is also close-by as another option to refuel.
